One of MindReader's handy features is that it allows you to send tasks to specific maps based on a keyword. This allows you to avoid having to deal with a huge "Daily Capture Map" backlog when you want to sort out things related to specific project or area of responsibility.
Previously you needed to [...]

I noticed I began experiencing frequent "The application has been requested to terminate"-type crashes since upgrading to the SP1 release for MindManager 7 where as the original release was pretty stable. I was a bit worried this was due to MindReader or OutLinker, but realized this evening it is likely due [...]

The latest newsletter from DavidCo pointed out that David Allen is now writing a weekly GTD article on the Huffington Post. His 2nd contribution, Think Smarter by Capturing your Ideas is absolutely required reading for GyroQ and MindReader users.
"How many thoughts and ideas do you have daily which represent useful [...]

Although the site's first post was back in August 2006 (Chapter 1), the first visitors started trickling this a year ago this week to read Committed Projects and Next Actions and Top 20 uses of GyroQ". Since then the site has accumulated just under 25,000 visits and 100,000 page views. [...]

While it can be character-building to hunt around the new MindManager 7 menu for things like My Maps, Map Markers, Task Info, Map Parts, and the Library, you can save yourself a lot of time if you go in and immediately reactivate the MindManager 6 sidebar tabs as shown below:
This was mentioned in the ResultsManager [...]

It's not actually "ResultsManager 7" — the humble folks at Gyronix have only incremented their 3rd digit (2.7.7 to 2.7.8) — but for a free upgrade, their upcoming MindManager 7-compatible release provides a significantly improved interface and adds real day-to-day value. While experienced users may have some difficulty generally adapting to MindManager [...]

As most ActivityOwner.Com readers are likely aware, Mindjet is launching MindManager 7 on May 31st. Marc Orchant and Chuck Frey have enumerated the new features of the program in detail, so I won't go into them here. I would note that the upgrade pricing from version 6 has not been announced, [...]

Over time I've customized the GyroQ "You've Got Mail" script to send me three separate email messages each morning based on ResultsManager dashboards that have updated overnight– one for deadlines, one for targets, and one for next actions.
This morning I noticed that while the targets and deadline messages were showing up fine, the [...]

The recording of Gyronix CEO Nik Tipler's webinar on using GyroQ is now available. The audio isn't all that hot, but the content is good, particularly around 32:45 if you are a MindReader fan :-).
On a related note, David Allen's long-time tech guru Eric Mack has a MindJet Webinar on Wednesday March 28th [...]

The GTD_MindManager group focuses on utilizing MindManager for GTD, with lots of ResultsManager discussion. The group recently passed the 1100 member mark and is growing steadily each week. [...]

One of my favorite GyroQ tags is "cna" (Copy Next Actions), which is described in the "Next Actions to Go" post. It takes my current ResultsManager "Daily Actions" dashboard (typically the one I've regenerated overnight), finds the next actions branch, and copies them to the clipboard as a plain text outline for pasting into [...]

Creating a detailed post on installing and configuring MindManager and ResultsManager has been on my someday/maybe project list for awhile. After seeing Kyle's very useful "Top 10 Mapping shortcuts" , I thought perhaps banging out a bulleted list sooner rather than later would be useful (and get it off my list as well). [...]

The most popular post on the ActivityOwner.com site is an early review of the pre-release version of GyroQ. The “Top Twenty Uses for GyroQ?” blog entry speculates on how users might ultimately choose to populate the 20 tag slots the software provides. Since that time, the Activityowner.com tag library has accumulated over [...]

After a solid round of beta-testing and customer-driven improvements, Gyronix launched their GyroQ product today. Among other things, it has utility as a "GTD Capture" tool. Gyronix is following a novel "invitation-only" approach similar to what Google used in launching their Gmail service. Visit the "GyroQ Invitations" page for more [...]

Individuals and teams adopting ResultsManager as a productivity tool can increase their chances of success if they are familiar with (if not adherents to) David Allen's "Getting Things Done" ('GTD") methodology. The abridged audio version of David's book is a good way to get started, particularly if you spend a lot of time [...]

Kyle McFarlin observes in his blog entry that prolific map generation can lead to organizational "opportunities". As he and Walter Terry point out, ResultsManager Dashboards help out quite a bit in this regard; greatly reducing the frequency in which you need to dig around manually for individual maps. ResultsManager can even [...]

If you start using ResultsManager in a group setting, you quickly realize that the default set of dashboards focus on you and your relationships with others. If a project or activity is not specifically owned or owed by you, it will not show up in your dashboards. While this filtering ultimately has [...]

ResultsManager comes with a pre-defined set of dashboard templates that are very useful, particularly for implementing David Allen's GTD approaches to managing projects and tasks. Technical users will often decide fairly quickly that they would like some additional dashboards that are tailored to their needs or provide a more group-oriented view.
The 217 [...]
