Hey. What about MM17 and MS Office 2013 combination ?

I cannot get Map2Excel to open on Mindmanager 2017. It does not show up on the add in list. After many reinstalls, it still does not work. Thoughts? Thank you!

Hi Martin — I believe the MindManager 2017 installer may allow Map2Excel to work with Excel 2013. I have not tested it but have gotten some good reports.
I have all the MindManager versions installed on my system but only the latest Excel, so that impacts what I can have Visual Studio incorporate into the build. It seems to be backward compatible to some extent.
Can you download and test? Should be a trial period. If not, let me know.

Hi Daniel — Not sure what is happening. Two possibilities are that you are running a different installer or that you are actually launching a different version of mindmanager than 2017. I know I sometimes get confused with all the old versions I have available to launch on my machine.
Do you get any errors with the installation? I can try upping the version number as that can help force a reinstall.

MM17 -> Map2Excel -> Office 2013 confirmed to work with latest version of M2E (MM17 & OFF 2016). NICE!

MM17 NEWS- same tags in different groups – while exporting map tree into excel with details (outline, table) some tags will be ignored -> no tag group name is displayed in details vertical cells (tag: tag name) and tags seems to be treated as duplicates. Better be careful not to loose your data during export. Cheers.

Hi Martin — Thanks for the report. I can confirm that in retrospect Map2Excel’s design did not anticipate there might be icons or tags with the same text name in defined different groups.
For icons in this situation it lumps the icons with different names into the same Excel column. For Tags it seems to miss the 2nd use of the tag name on the export.
I will have a look at fixing this, but it will take some focused time on my part as the fix will need to be compatible with re-import as well.
The workaround in the meantime unfortunately is to avoid using duplicate tag and icon names in different groups.

Hi Martin — I fixed the icon bug that allowed icons with the same name to be merged. The header now reads as icon:icon group:icon name.
I don’t believe that tags with the same name can live in different groups?

Hi,
Hi Activity Owner,
mhh: my System runs with Office 365 (Excel 2016) and the MM-Version 2017, 32 Bit, Windows 7, 64 Bit. You wrote elswhere in this Blog or in the Download-Section: “contact if needet für 2016” :).
The download I have done after a restart. Mindjet did not run at this Moment.
Any Ideas, new Versions etc.?
Best Regards
Jürgen
Many Thanks and only the Best for you at 2017

Hi Jürgen
Below is the link for Excel 2016 and MM17-32bit. Is this the one you installed?
http://www.activityowner.com/installers/map2excel2016-stable-download-mm2017.php
Are you saying Mindmanager will not launch or that you do not have the add-in in your menu?
Jürgen said,
January 2, 2017 @ 5:06 pm
OK, i will check this version and I’ll tell you right away.
I do not have the add-in in the menu. MM starts normally.

Hi,
this Version Map2ExcelSetup-MM2017-32bit-1.0.0141.msi or the new one “Map2ExcelSetup-MM2017-32bit-1.0.0141 (1).msi” ist not running on my system.
Some assumptions:
– MAP and Mulitmaps are running in the trial version and …
– … MM 17 running in a trail version, Version 17.1.1.178
What menu do you mean? The MM-export menue? The MM-header menue?
Unfortunately, nowhere to see …
Maybe some stupid mistake from me – mhh!?

When you click on the .msi file does is run and report it has installed successfully?
Or is the problem that after installing the msi file, you cannot launch MM17 anymore?
Jürgen said,
January 2, 2017 @ 5:55 pm
Yes. The Message after Installing is:
ActivityOwner.Com Map2Excel has been succesfully installed.
After this Message i can Start MM normaly.
MM can be installed or not? You wrote, MM should not run. Correct?

Hi Jürgen — sorry for these problems. I found the latest MM17-32bit install did not work for me either for MM17 32bit. It appears I did something to my system when I created the 64bit version that is impacting my ability to compile new 32 bit installs.
Please give this a try — it worked for me. Go to windows and uninstall map2excel through the add/remove programs menu. Then go to the download link:
http://www.activityowner.com/installers/map2excel2016-stable-download-mm2017.php
This link will now download a version I compiled before the move to 64bit:
Map2ExcelSetup-MM2017-32bit-1.0.0124.msi
which I hope should work for you.

Hi Computer scientists,
yes, yes, yes!

Your ingenious system is running. I try everything now and give you a Feedback briefly. I have searched for a very long time after such a software.
Thank you very much

Hi,
the first test was great. It shows that, what i want. Now i can modeling the database with Excel.
A small error exists:
In on column (AA) wiht tag-titel “Analges Marketing” M2E shows the Comments/Notes of all the Branches of the MM, not the number “1” for given tag. All the other (121) tag-columns was perfectly handed over. This is a very big Mindmap.
Would you like to see the Original-MM?
Annually brillant. That´s it!
Great Work.
Best Regards

Hi Jürgen — I figured out my build mistake and now have the latest version of Map2Excel available at the 2017 32bit download link. There were some improvements since the version you were able to get working.

I am just going to admit that I struggle to understand how to implement MindReader et al. I have tried to follow the doc, but never quite get there. I have used RM, GyroQ, MAP, Multimaps for years.
Are you planning to update your products to work with MM2018?
Will there be documentation with a more gentle learning curve?
Thanks

Hi Phillip — I’ve become too mobile to make good use of desktop mindmanager app, so I haven’t been using the tools. I do try to keep them up to date and will get new versions up in a few weeks. The current version doesn’t incorporate GyroQ as it got too complex to leverage and was really just a workaround for me not knowing how to create a dedicated add-in initially. The current app has a GyroQ like window, but requires you to keep MindManager running (not a big deal in this day and age).
I’m happy to try to answer questions as they arise. Documentation is slim. This is an add-in to an add-in to a niche program. The market is you and one other guy :-).
