Excel2Map – Tabular Import

By popular demand, I added a tabular Excel import to the Map2Excel add-in for MindJet. to the latest beta (1.0.0083).Quick illustration below. Note that the excel file must follow the format of an "outline with details" export or the import will give incorrect results.

I assume this is a compatibility issue with the release version and not a bug? I'll try installing the latest version and recompling and will post a note when its uploaded.

Hi there. Is there documentation anywhere on which icons can/can't be imported?

I've tried a few icons by exporting a map and then re-importing again. Some icons come back into the generated map, others don't. The columns just seem to be ignored.

    Thanks!

Any chance of getting Map2Excel working for Mindmanager 15?

I tried to get this to work using Map2Excel for Mind Manager 2017. It did work as I hoped. It still only seems expects the data to be in the outline format.
    – did this "import from tabular format" functionality make it into that version of the product?
    – if not, is there any suggestions on automating the conversion of the excel data from a tabular structure as shown in the example on this page to an outline format?

Yes — I believe tabular input should work.

Update — Apologies — a few folks have been confused by poor documentation of the requirements for excel2map feature to work. You must create the excel file in the format generated by an "outline with details" export in terms of the header and column information.

Some early prototypes didn't require this and examples from that persisted on the blog in examples.
