New OutLinker feature — create set of topics with links contacts, notes, tasks, or messages

The OutLinker package has a new feature. If you select a set of any type of item and run the SendLink2MindManager macro, it will add topics below the selected topic in a map with the text of the item in topic/note and with a link back to the item. You could use this, for example, to create a map with topics for all the appointments you have for the week or for a set of contacts. As I understand it, this might fill a gap for some left by removal of OutLook Linker by MindJet.

The main OutLinker package is geared toward processing mailbox items into map or task list items and archiving the messages to a folder. This feature leaves the items into place.

    Hi, I’m trying to set up Outlinker but get the VBA screen with the message that it can’t find the project or directory. I go to Tools, but the Resources menu item is not highlighted and I can’t figure out how to access it to change the directory as you mention in your Trouble shooting section. using Mindmanager 9 and Outlook 2007. Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have. lb

    Hi Linda — I am not sure what is happening. Are macros enabled? Are you going into the visual basic editor with the outlinker code (project1) on the screen?

    Hey AO,
    Recently got a new 64 bit machine but having troubles getting outlinker to work. If I try to send an item to GyroQ it gives me a message to check that I have the right path to the GyroQ folder set. I have checked, rechecked and re-entered the folder path C:\Program Files (x86)\Gyronix\GyroQ several times but still get the same message and nothing is sent to the queue.

    Any suggestions? Or should I uninstall & reinstall?

    Hi Mal — You need a \ after GyroQ. Sorry about that. Code should be smart enough to catch that.
