The QuickTime video loop below shows the GyroQ MindReader "process current topics" ("c") tag acting on selected MindManager topics. Based on the keyword matches the macro sees in the user's MindReader configuration map, it performs a GTD "process" step by setting the activity context, due dates, icons, priorities, category, area, resources, etc. [...]

The most popular post on the ActivityOwner.com site is an early review of the pre-release version of GyroQ. The “Top Twenty Uses for GyroQ?” blog entry speculates on how users might ultimately choose to populate the 20 tag slots the software provides. Since that time, the Activityowner.com tag library has accumulated over [...]

Last week's post on "GyroParser-let GyroQ read your mind" demonstrated an initial proof of concept of a GyroQ tag for parsing the text of an action item to try to infer the destination map for it, its due date, its context, and the relationships (e.g. waiting for, owed to, contact about) associated with it. In my quest to create a generic "GyroParse" (now called "MindReader"), the first order of business was to create a generic and configurable way to open the destination MindManager map using GyroQ based on keywords in the queued item. "Buy eggs tomorrow!"
"Call Bob next week",
"Read Getting Things Done someday"
Longtime ActivityOwner.com readers may remember an early post that speculated about the possibility of having GyroQ parse the text of an action item to automatically infer things like context. due date, priority, etc. This could act as a time saver, allow one tag to [...]

If you use a series of linked maps and dashboards to navigate around your projects and tasks, you can quickly find yourself with a dozen maps open at a time, even though you are only actively editing a couple of them. The GyroQ "clo" tag described in this post enables you to clear [...]

The recent "Put it in Front of the Door" post described the use of GyroQ and the Windows scheduler to automatically refresh a set of Gyronix ResultsManager dashboards using the GyroActivator language. On a related note, a recent post on the Yahoo GTD_MindManager forum inquired about the possibility of adding a MindManager menu [...]

Does "last action" clutter make your "next action" maps less effective?
In a post on the Yahoo GTD-MindManager group, Colin raises the question of how to best handle completed tasks in MindManager maps:
Has anyone here struggled with the best way to track a history of completed tasks? When it comes to finite projects, it makes sense [...]

Elizabeth recently posted on the Yahoo GTD_Mindmanager group on her use of MindManager to review the Incompletion Triggers list from David Allen's book Getting Things Done. The trigger list provides prompts to jog your memory of open loops that are "on your mind" that you need into translate to projects and next actions. She [...]

Individuals and teams adopting ResultsManager as a productivity tool can increase their chances of success if they are familiar with (if not adherents to) David Allen's "Getting Things Done" ('GTD") methodology. The abridged audio version of David's book is a good way to get started, particularly if you spend a lot of time [...]

Kyle McFarlin observes in his blog entry that prolific map generation can lead to organizational "opportunities". As he and Walter Terry point out, ResultsManager Dashboards help out quite a bit in this regard; greatly reducing the frequency in which you need to dig around manually for individual maps. ResultsManager can even [...]
