Hi Brad -- Thanks for the screenshot. Sorry about this.

The error is related to MarkTaskComplete checking to see if your My Maps\CompletedConfig.mmap file is up to date.

It looks like there is a stray character (square) before the "20090801" in the note in the "lastupgrade" topic under "options" in completedconfig.mmap.

Could you try deleting the 20090801 from the note or just delet the "lastupgrade" topic? I think that might allow it to fix itself.

It's really strange, because at one point, Mark Text Complete was working just fine. I have tried deleting everything and starting over, restarting in between, to no avail. Do you have any idea what might be causing this error?

Upgrading to MM9 should not be necessary. Many people have chosen not to do this upgrade due to issues with how mindjet change task date handling.

What problems are you currently having?

I upgraded to GyroQ pro, but I am still having problems. Do you think I would be smart to upgrade to Mindmanager 9? I really want to get all of this working. If that is what it takes, I am open to that. Let me know your thoughts.

Brad

The message text from GyroActivator is not clear, but what it is trying to say is that your license is for GyroQ Essential, and not GyroQ Pro. GyroQ Essential licenses contain "-50-", whereas GyroQ Pro licenses contain "-51-". The Pro version is needed for custom tags that are authored outside Gyronix. Unfortunately, because GyroActivator does not have any knowledge of the GyroQ license types, it thinks it is unlicensed and displays a message that is misleading in the context of GyroQ usage.

Best regards

Hi Brad -- Does the 2nd tag work (information with clipboard)? That is an original gyronix tag I believe. Do you have a license for GyroQ Pro or GyroQ essentials? You would need the pro version to use custom tags.

Unfortunately it looks like I am still having an issue here....

When I try to add an action item using the Q tag, I get this message that pops up:
GyroActivator License
Copyright (c) Gyronix 2005 - 2010
Expired trial version
The command sequence
"queue;clipboard;map;select;text;notes;cl..."
requires a GyroActivator license key
License key:
7189-50-GYR002-ESS-l08-5-XXXXXX

Help Get a License Key Online Cancel

The Gyronix license shown is active and accurate, but no matter what I do, I cannot get it to work. Any ideas?

It looks like this fixed the issues. Thanks so much! I have been looking for this sort of a solution for quite a while, and had even created some of my own macros using a keyboard macro program, with lots of frustration. Thanks so much for your elegant creation. I will be donating soon.

Hi Brad -- sorry for the delay in my reply. Thanks for reporting the problem.

It must be something with how I last compiled it for MM8. I only use MM9 these days but replicated the problem on a MM8 machine just now.

The solution is to click on Application, Options, Add-ins, and then check the box for the "ActivityOwner.com MarkTaskComplete" add-in.

The gyronix license issue is something to bring up with Gyronix:

I am excited about using your products but I keep running into a couple of problems. I am using MM 8, and I cannot get the Mark Task Complete items to show up on the ribbon. The MindReader items show up fine, but even uninstalling and reinstalling does no good. I also continually get this error about having an expired trial version, it brings up my gyronix license number, which is correct, but when I click okay, it says unlicensed version. Can you help me out?
